Being misunderstood is the fastest way to fragment any family situation. Moreover, what you lost in the miscommunications is not retrievable. If you do not know what was lost, an opportunity to prosper never appeared. If these lost opportunities continue, it is going to make matters worse. So how do you want to rectify it so everyone wins?
Part of understanding this issue is what is the source of the conflict. By getting to the root cause, the family gets to move forward with life. There may be other issues as well, and it takes an outsider with a history of working with families and business to bring the issues to the surface. Once there, the fun begins.
Intergeneration differences can cause the conflict and be the source of family frictions. A difference on approach and style needs examination. In addition, everyone has different needs and values. Therefore, by finding the cause, you go to the source of the solution.
