Here's my professional background. EMPLOYMENT: 1994 to Present: Private Coaching Practice Personal and Professional Coach utilizing experiential and applied behavioral modification in focused cognitive education to professionals dealing with career and personal development issues. Coach to individuals in life transitions (career changes, goal identification, retirement planning, aging issues, etc.). Process facilitation to organizations dealing with change (strategic planning, organizational realignment, etc.). Work with family owned businesses as a family systems architect on succession planning, communication, family meetings coordination, community building, and personal coaching.
1993 to 1997: Veterans Affairs Medical Center - Baltimore, Md. Geriatric Social Worker for the Geriatric Evaluation & Management Unit and the Geriatric Assessment Program. A core member of an interdisciplinary team focused on the total quality care for the population over sixty years of age. Instituted a dementia evaluation program, over fifty support group, and supervised five social work students and 12 law students in the Geriatric Assessment Clinic.
1992: Caron Foundation Family Services - Wernersville, Pa. Six-month post-graduate residential therapist training internship using experiential techniques in addressing co-dependency.
1990-1991: Veterans Affairs Medical Center - Baltimore, Md. With Hospital Based Home Care, Community Nursing Home Program, Geriatric and Gerontology Education and Research Program, and the Dual Diagnosed Special Population Outpatient Clinic. Provided individual, couple and family counseling surrounding terminal illness and long-term care planning as part of inter-disciplinary team.
1990: Department of Social Services - Baltimore County, Md. With Adult Protective Service. Co-facilitator of a weekly group for the residents of a homeless shelter. Coordinated community resources (intra and inter-county outreach programs); referred to internal social services and case management for 12 clients.
1989: Wyman Park Recovery - Baltimore, Md. With family services to the family members of patients on the variable length in and out patient drug/alcohol rehabilitation hospital unit.
1987-1995: Family Support Foundation - Baltimore, Md. Treasurer/Founding Trustee for this non-profit operating foundation. The foundation's purpose is to assist families in finding the help they need from the best available sources.
1984-1987: The Pierrepont Group - Boston, Ma. Partner in a consumer products distribution firm operating in the Metropolitan Boston area. Revitalized the company from bankruptcy. Set new operating policies, financial controls, and marketing plans. Salvaged a firm from bankruptcy to produce $800,000 in sales within the first two years.
1981-1984: F.A.O. Schwarz - New York, NY. Corporate Operations Manager/Assistant to the President for this toy retailer. Conceptualized, implemented and monitored a management information system for operations reporting, inventory control, and computer planning, between the areas of accounting, purchasing, the merchandise distribution center and thirty national retail stores.
1979-1981: Consolidated Fibres - national paperstock company Regional Director of Marketing - responsible for organization and execution of long term supply and sales contracts that increased divisional sales by 12% over preceding years. Operational Manager for a six million dollar annual sales processing plant which improved profits by 17%. Assistant Sales Manager to supervise the daily distribution planning between two plant operations and a sales office in Washington, D.C. 1978-1979 Transcontinental IMEX - Washington, D.C. Data Coordinator responsible for gathering and documentation of information concerning construction projects with developing countries' embassies dealing with the U.S. Agency for International Development.
