The results I see from working with my clients.
I have worked with over ninty clients since I formally started coaching in 1997. Most of them have been with me for several years. It is fascinating to watch one's transformation as they achieve his/her desired goal. Moreover, all of my clients are different. They have different interests, needs, values, and their standards are always increasing.
I'm listing several below (in alphabetical order) some of the prevalent benefits of working with me. This list is like my clients, ever changing! It is a start, and as time continues, I will add to it.
Awareness : When one starts a coaching relationship with me, I send our an initial twenty-five point questionnaire to promote thinking about the important aspects of life. There are other assessments that I use, though all my clients tell me the initial one is the one that gets them really to heighten their awareness. I know when I work with my coaches, I pay them to help me expand my frame of reference so I learn and experiment more. Once I see this in my client, I know there is seriousness in their personal advancement.
Bountifulness : When one invests in themselves, they become grateful for the amount of specialness they possess. It is my job to help my client look at their available resources, even if they do not see it. This is bountifulness at its best; see what you already own and use it naturally.
Clarity : Most clients get to know themselves better. They have a better sense of who they are, and where they want to go. It takes a good three to six months of regular meetings to recognize these aspects of oneself (and aren't your worth it!). Part of this process is the getting clear on several issues that might not be clear before. It is this clearing that helps build one's clarity.
Focus : I am amazed after the initial "getting to know one another" period, the relationship focuses on some core issues that are very much my client's source of interest. With this intense focus, we are able to zero in on what's important and what's not.
One last thing, I was on a walk with one of my former clients. He still refers to his notes from our working together. He was kind enough to tell me what our coaching relationship helped him see in himself. I want to share with you what he said.
First, he told me that I have a way of listening, whether in person or on the telephone, that promotes inquisitiveness. He likes how I am quiet, let him speak, and then pose a question or make a statement that provides him the time and space to look further at his issue. Our dialogues had a profound effect on how he lives and works. I know some of his comments have made me think deeply as well.
Second, I have been a virtual partner where his best interest was my main goal. He told me that I was there for him, not just his goals. He knew he could call me, and get some honesty straight questions or a statement that made him find his best answer for his situation and ultimately, his life. He liked that external support system.
Third, he told me that he has grown intensely as a person and a professional since we start our coaching relationship. His awareness of his values, needs, and standards have solidified. His standards have risen, and he continues to raise them. He does not tolerate much anymore, and he knows when he's out of balance (and how to bring himself back to center).
I share this with you since I do not see what I do naturally. It just flows from who I am. As my good friend (and first client) reflected back to me, I felt this sense of gratitude that I am doing what I am here to do. I live in my flow of my soul, and it is as natural for me as my red hair.
